Since Lil Wayne released “Sorry 4 The Wait 2” the war match has been lit between him and Cash Money Records as a whole. Wayne has allegedly started legal proceedings to take Birdman to court to let him out of his contract. Wayne says that Birdman violated the terms of his contract by not releasing Tha Carter V. Birdman also allegedly owes Wayne 8 million dollars! Now that 8 mill that he is suing for, was supposed to be an advance from Wayne’s last album that Weezy claims he never received.
A law suit seems to be the only way that Baby is going to allow Wayne out of his contract. Especially since Wayne took plenty shots at Birdman in his new mixtape. Word on the street is Birdman was fuming when he heard about it, and felt betrayed that Wayne is being putting their bad blood out there for the world to see.
Mack Maine released a statement saying that the Carter V will be released in a few months despite the legal battle. Birdman says however they will release the project when they are ready. Both parties say they will not settle in or out of court, they want all or nothing.
It sounds similar to the reason Mannie Fresh and The Hot Boyz left the label. Lets see how this plays out.
