Despite all of the stories that producers didn’t actually portray everyone in the NWA movie, a partial sequel/spin-off movie is in the works for a Dogg Pound biopic.
The movie will pick up where the NWA movie left off, which was basically the birth of Death Row Records. The movie will follow the careers of west coast rappers Snoop Dogg, Warren G, Daz, Kurupt, Nate Dogg.
None of the actors from the NWA movie will be playing in the Dogg Pound movie. Dr. Dre’s son Curtis Young will portray his father in the film.
Daz says Ice Cube won’t be producing but agrees the story needs to be told. Daz also says they will not whitewash the gang violence that was prominent back then, and the impact it had on rap music.
Suge Knight will be included in the story, but no producers will be working with him directly.
