Will Rihanna be the only reigning princess at Roc Nation? According to reports, she is trying to make sure no other artist takes her place, including Rita Ora.
A source from Rita Ora’s camp says Rihanna is the force behind her lawsuit to end her relationship with Roc Nation. They say Rita feels that Jay Z and the label did not have her best interest for her career.
The source goes along to say that Rihanna never liked Rita, and is using her power within the company to make sure her career never flourishes. The insider told The Sun newspaper, ”The fact that Rita’s ex Calvin Harris is on their management books hasn’t helped either. He is one of their highest earners and they did nothing to stop him when he blocked Rita from using songs that he had written on her album”. The source also claims that songs would be taken from Rita and given to Rihanna, who would hold on to them for months before deciding she did not want them.
Apparently there has been a feud between Rita and Rihanna since Rita worked with Chris Brown on a song. They say Ri Ri also banned Rita from attending her Met Gala after party this year.
In the paperwork filed in Los Angeles last week, Rita describes her relationship with Roc Nation “irrevocably damaged”.
