He says he had to reinvent himself to be marketable because being “Musiq Soulchild” was not bringing in the dough as it should. Artist Spotlight Music Edition: D Da Don

Today’s Artist Spotlight features a hip-hop artist by the name of D Tha Don.  The Detroit rapper has been creating his own buzz in the streets of Detroit. He started off as a producer, then in 2006 he discovered he had bars hidden under his belt.  He has been hustling hard and performing all over the city to make his following stronger. For the past 5 years he has held the Detroit Open Mic scene. He then released his first EP titled ‘Blue Magic’ with the hit single ‘We Roll’. He is working on releasing  a follow up album ‘D’s NUTZ’ with hit single ‘She Ready’.  D even has a feature with the hilarious Katt Williams. Music Mondays: Artist Spotlight-T Villa

To kick off the first Music Monday Artist Spotlight we have a rapper from the city of Detroit who goes by the name T Villa.  He has been acknowledged by Maybach Music Group and NBA player Jamal Crawford. People are recognizing his talents and he is doing it all without a major record deal. Inspired by his hard work and determination, he has coined the phrase G.M.A.O (Grinding My Ass Off). Forbes Magazine: Hip Hop Is Being Run By A White Blonde


Forbes Magazine is hailing rapper Iggy Azalea as the new rap Queen Bee. They went on to say that Nicki Minaj once dominated the genre but that is no longer the case. Iggy’s new album ‘The Classic’ debuted at  #3 on the Billboard charts selling 52,00 copies.
