The second Artist Spotlight feature is showcasing the talent of an artist by the name of Bran Martez. The 24 year old rapper was born and raised in Detroit, MI with 9 siblings. He picked up a pen at the age of 12 and started rapping. Bran Martez is an artist that does not like to limit himself into one genre. He will make any kind of music that appeals to him. His style has been mostly compared to the New York rapper Fabolous. His favorites to listen to are Drake, Chance The Rapper, Fabolous, Cam’ron and Kendrick Lamar. He is working hard and is determined to make it big. He writes all his music, plus the hooks. He has also produced 90 percent of his beats. He has released 2 solo mixtapes and 1 group collab with CED. He has also collaborated with famous Detroit battle rapper Calicoe. He dedicated a song to slain Detroit rapper Blade Icewood called ‘Letter To Icewood’ which he filmed a video for. Icewood was a superstar in Detroit, MI and has influenced many up and upcoming artists from the inner city. Bran Martez is one of them. Martez is also well known on the battle rap scene as TEZ. He is also apart of the group C.E.D (Chasing Every Dollar).
He has proven in the battle raps that he can hang with the best of the best, and won’t stop until he is named among the best of the best.
