Robin Williams was a great actor that helped make movies like Mrs. Doubtfire, Happy Feet, and Dead Poets Society household names. The actor was apparently battling depression and reports are saying he committed suicide. Williams was pronounced dead at his Northern California home around 11:35 am. His death has been ruled a suicide from asphyxia but has not been confirmed. They are also running a toxicology report.
His wife Susan Schneider made a statement saying, “This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken. On behalf of Robin’s family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin’s death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions.”
The sheriff’s department has made a statement also stating, “An investigation into the cause, manner and circumstances of the death is currently underway by the Investigations and Coroner Divisions of the Sheriff’s Office. “The Coroner Division suspects the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia, but a comprehensive investigation must be completed before a final determination is made.”
Reading some social media pages, I am seeing people are questioning the suicide story. Could someone had suffocated Williams knowing his depression secret would come out? Or did he really decided to suffocate himself? We probably will never really know the truth but we do know the world lost a great actor. I was surely shocked to hear the story.
