According to a press conference, Floyd Mayweather’s ex-fiancee Shantel Jackson has retained super attorney Gloria Allred in a lawsuit against the boxing champ. According to Jackson, she is suing Money Mayweather for assault, battery, false imprisonment, defamation, invasion of privacy, and emotional distress. After he was released from jail for allegedly beating up his ex Josie Harris, Jackson says Floyd twisted her arm and choked her. Jackson is also claiming that in 2013 Floyd pulled a gun on her and asked “Which toe you want me to shoot?”, and again when they broke up when he ordered her to remove the engagement ring off her finger. She also added in the suit that earlier this year he hit her in his Ritz Carlton condo.
Jackson held a press conference saying she felt she had no choice to sue him because she has given him opportunities to do the right thing. In her press release she says:
There was a point in my relationship with Floyd that I thought we would be together forever. I loved him so much and I made sure that I took care of him the best I knew how.
I tried my best to make our relationship work by compromising and going to relationship counseling, but I finally realized that there was no hope and our relationship could not continue.
I loved Floyd deeply but he continued to disappoint and intentionally hurt me. I have been embarrassed and humiliated more than I can ever imagine by Floyd whom I once called my best friend and fiancé.
I have tried everything that I could and I have given Floyd every opportunity to do the right thing. Unfortunately, he has refused every opportunity to make things right. It is with a heavy heart that I finally realized that the only way to set the record straight to achieve justice for what he has done to me is through the filing of this lawsuit.
Domestic violence is never the answer. Did she think she was any different than Josie? I am wondering with the whole press release thing, is this extra for her upcoming reality show with Nelly. Hmm…only time will tell.
