This is some very messy ish right here. I have to say I never thought I would see the day it became Lil Wayne vs. Birdman/Cash Money. Wayne is letting Birdman know he is dead ass serious about leaving Cash Money Records. He also plans to take Drake and Nicki Minaj with him.
According to the court report, Wayne says Baby violated his contract by not releasing Tha Carter 5, and withholding tens of millions of dollars from him. Apparently Wayne was supposed to get an 8 million dollar advance and then another 2 million once the album was completed. Wayne says he has received nothing, and because Birdman will not release the album and is refusing to pay him, he has the right to exit stage left.
Wayne also wants a judge to acknowledge that he is the copyright owner of all things Young Money related which includes the careers of Drake, Nicki and many others.
Birdman could release the album but he would still be obligated to pay Weezy what he is owed.
