Jussie Smollett is the break out star on the new Fox hit show, Empire. On the show (for those who don’t know) Jussie plays the role of Jamal Lyon who is a very talented singer, and is also a gay man.
Since the show has aired, many have wondered if Jussie was gay in real life. He always dodged the question by saying “I don’t talk about my personal life”. Jussie stopped by Ellen to finally put those rumors to bed.
Well there you have it. He finally came out to the world, and hopes he doesn’t have to answer the question anymore.
What the world may not have caught is that Terrence Howard let us know Jussie was gay back in January in an interview he did with Global Grind. I don’t think he realized he did, but ….he did.
He said:
“Watching Jussie come up, Jussie is beautiful – his sense of heart and rhythm is amazing. The courage he has. He’s homosexual in his real life, so to play this homosexual character, which has such intensity, and he has such a love for his father and his father is unable to return that love to him because of his prejudice to him.”
