UVA Honor Student Martese Johnson Attacked By Police During An Arrest

A black honor student who attends University of Virginia named Martese Johnson had a moment in his life he will never forget. The 20 year old junior was attempting to get into a local pub to partake in St. Patrick’s Day festivities, when he got into an altercation with the ABC police.

There are conflicting stories about what happened, but a video of the incident was posted online.

Martese was leaving the pub when ABC walked over and asked him for his ID. They told him the ID was fake and thats when police slammed him to the ground. While he was on the ground, Martese yelled out “I go to UVA! I go to UVA! I go to UVA!  I go to UVA you fuckin racist! You fuckin racist! What the fuck?! How did this happen? How did this happen, you racist!? “

People in the crowd were heard on the clip yelling at the police that Martese was bleeding, and saying that they were not even the real police, they were the Alcohol Beverage Control Police.

After Martese needed 10 stitches to close the wound he received.

They have charged Martese with public intoxication and obstruction of justice. REALLY?! You can see clear as day on this video that he didn’t resist when these phony ass cops took him down. There was not any mention of a fake ID in the reports, which was the alleged cause of the arrest in the first place. The Vice President of UVA even spoke out and confirmed that his ID was indeed not fake.

The brutality and pain he suffered sparked outrage and many protested on his behalf, on and off the UVA campus. The VA governor Terry McAuliffe is also doing a separate investigation to find out what happened exactly.

I will be watching this case very closely to see what actions are being taken. The injustice cannot be tolerated any longer.
