I can honestly say that I have been disappointed with the biopics that have been released for celebs like Aaliyah. Whitney Houston’s was okay, but wasn’t a full story. Now BET will take their turn giving the world a biopic about the legendary group New Edition.
Five of the group’s members, Ricky Bell, Ronnie Devoe, Michael Bivins, Johnny Gill, and Ralph Tresvant have decided to produce a 3 night miniseries about their group.
This will be BET’s first scripted music themed tv story, so they need to make sure they do this right.
The group released a statement about the movie. “From our beginning in the Orchard Park Projects in Boston to Hollywood and everything in between, just like the Temptations and the Jackson 5, we are ready to retrace our footsteps and show everyone how we got here,”
As of now, there has been no mention of Bobby Brown participating in the film.
