I am really looking forward to seeing Hidden Figures. This movie tells the story about 3 black female mathematicians, who were the brains behind sending John Glenn to NASA.The film stars Taraji P Henson as Katherine Johnson, Janelle Monae as Mary Jackson, and Octavia Spencer as Dorothy Vaughan. This movie is supposed to tell the story that we never hear….how these 3 black women helped change history. Take a look at the trailer.
I am happy to see these ladies in non-slave roles. Octavia definitely has had her share of having to play one, but to see my girls portray brilliant black women makes me overjoyed.
I don’t know if this is Janelle Monae’s first acting gig, but she looks to be doing a really good job.
