The next artist under the spotlight is Harlem native Buddha Lucci. Raised in Detroit, MI, Buddha Lucci stepped into the world of music at just 6 years old. Freestyling with his older brother Hassan is what made him realize he had a special talent, and that time, he didn’t even know what a “bar” was.
He used to study his brother’s lyrics and perform them at school, as if they were his own. Buddha began writing at the young age of 7 and started perfecting his craft by the age of 12. He made a name for himself battle rapping against school and neighborhood kids. Being known for his witty punchlines, he became a young aggressive lyricist.
At 18 he began performing at local clubs in Detroit, and got the attention of NBA legend Derrick Coleman.
Buddha Lucci has performed in front of other musicians such as Don Diego of Major Players Ent., Big Herk, Chedda Boy Malik and K-Yay just to name a few.
He contributes his musical influencers to be Big Daddy Kane, Big Pun, 2pac, Notorious BIG, Big L, Dr. Dre, Jay Z, Nas, Eminem, J. Cole, Cassidy, Fred the godson, TI, KRS One, Jadakiss, Fabolous, 50 Cent and Game.
