A few months back, r&b singer Sevyn Streeter took to her Instagram to blast Philadelphia 76ers organization for refusing to let her sing the National Anthem while wearing a “We Matter” jersey. Now they have had a change of heart.
Here is what Sevyn had to say about not being allowed to wear the jersey, which is a play off the “Black Lives Matter” movement at a Philadelphia home game.
The Sixers organization has decided that they made the wrong decision by not letting Sevyn sing because of the controversial jersey, after players and activists tore them a new one.
They want to give the opportunity to sing the anthem at a game on December 16th. Sevyn has accepted, and clearly stated she will wear the same jersey proudly.
