We broke the news earlier Monday morning that 3 families of aspiring recording artists came forward and stated that R. Kelly was holding women captive. Forcing them to join a cult.
According to 3 unnamed sets of parents, they haven’t seen or heard from their daughters in months. They say the Chicago native brainwashed the women by getting close with them, BuzzFeed reports. They said that Kelly promised to help their careers.
The families also claim that Kelly dictated their daily lives. That included rules about when to bath and what they could eat and wear, sleep and how to engage in sexual encounters recorded by him, they said. The women could be punished physically and verbally by the singer if they chose not to listen the report also went on to say.
R. Kelly’s lawyer Linda Mensch released a statement:
“Robert Kelly is both alarmed and disturbed at the recent revelations attributed to him. Mr Kelly unequivocally denies such allegations.”
One of the alleged victim’s Jocelyn Savage did an interview with TMZ saying she is not in danger and is very happy in life right now.
Other former female associates of R. Kelly have also come forward to BuzzFeed claiming that they were once under the 50 year old’s spell. These unidentified women state that they lived in one of Kelly’s many homes after being promised a music career, but their music was never heard. One said that R. Kelly is a sweetheart but Robert is an evil man.
