We have a few spoiler alerts for your favorite shows returning this fall. Stay ahead of the game and take a look at what you can expect when they premiere.
Now because we don’t want to give away too much, we will just give you a little to chew on until the shows air.
EMPIRE
Season 4 of Empire debuts September 27th at 8 p.m. on FOX. It will pick up exactly where they left off with Lucious still having no memory of his life. According to Taraji P. Henson, “I think the biggest thing…is to regain Lucious’ memory. He lost it and that hurts”. She also added “It’s almost like dealing with a family member with Alzheimer’s.” And don’t expect a quick fix, either. “We’re on episode four, and it’s still bad,” New to the season will be veteran actor Forest Whitaker, who plays ‘Uncle Eddie’. He will be a music icon who gave Lucious a chance and played his first song on the radio when Lucious was unknown and trying to get into the music industry.
We also will learn why Lucious’ nurse played by Demi Moore was acting weird as hell. Terrance Howard teases that Nurse Claudia is the only person Lucious trusts once he wakes up. Lets see how well that goes with Cookie.
GREY’S ANATOMY
Grey’s is back Thursday September 28th at 8 p.m. on ABC. The first 2 episodes are said to be very funny and entertaining. The newest season is trying to bring back some of the fun from the first couple of earlier years of Grey’s Anatomy. Teddy Altman will be popping back up in Owen’s life now that his sister Megan has been found alive. Now that Shonda Rhymes has taken her talents to Netflix, the new showrunner Krista Vernoff told E! News “It’s very funny. It’s very irreverent and funny and sort of on its side. I think it’s what you remember and love about the beginning of the original group.”
HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER
HTGAWM also returns September 28th at 10 p.m. on ABC. Everyone is attempting to get their lives back on track after dealing with 3 years of tragedy. From the death of Wes and Laurel being pregnant with his child to Annalise being locked up and spiraling out of control with her alcoholism, there was a lot to recover from.
Viola Davis tells E! “I’m ready for the roughness to end, but you know what, she’s an alcoholic, you know? She’s reached rock bottom, and she’s trying to work her way back to being that badass Annalise in the court room,” “Getting that career back, getting her life back. That’s really what you’re going to see this season.” I wonder what new murders they will get away with this season.
SCANDAL
Our favorite political thriller is back October 5th at 9 p.m. on ABC. Get ready for a time jump. The first episode will cover Mellie’s first 100 days in the oval office. Olivia is the Chief of Staff but also the head of B6-13, unknowingly to Mellie. With two very powerful women in the White House, there will eventually be a collision over who really runs the nation. Cyrus will also become bored with being Vice President. Being that he is not one to be told what to do, he and Olivia will continue to butt heads as the final season continues on. Prepare for a catastrophe.
THIS IS US
The ground breaking drama ‘This Is Us” returns to our televisions September 26th at 9 p.m. on NBC. This season we will definitely find out how Jack died. The writers and the actor Milo Ventimiglia that portrays him wanted to give the audience complete satisfaction. You won’t see how, but will definitely get the story behind how it happened. The show will pick up right after the fight between Rebecca and Jack. Randall continues to try to adopt a baby, while Kevin works on a new movie with Sylvester Stallone. We will also get to see Kate going after her dreams.
LAW & ORDER: SVU
Benson (Mariska Hartigay) is back and looking for love in the 19th season of Law & Order SVU. It premieres on September 27th at 9 p.m. on NBC. According to the executive producer Julie Martin, the option for love for Olivia this season is not dead. “It’s always been a journey for Olivia, to continue to grow and find meaning and happiness, and that journey isn’t over yet. Olivia will continue to try to find balance between being a mother and being an SVU lieutenant. She has always been and always will be a tireless advocate for victims, a seeker of truth and justice. Certainly the culture of abuse and sexual violence has improved in a lot of ways over the many seasons of the series, but as this past year has shown us, there’s a lot more work to be done for Olivia Benson,” she told the Hollywood Reporter. We may also get to see Rollins and Carisi finally light a fire from the sparks between them.
At the end of season 18…literally the last few minutes of the finale, there was a mosque bombing. Benson is to be blamed for allowing the bombing to happen. She and Barba (Raul Esparaza) begin to lose their minds when they realize the evidence they have may not stand in a court of law. Raul Esparaza says they may end up having to alter the truth to get a conviction. “Barba and Benson both end up really tested because she can’t hang onto the witness legally and she can’t make the case, and Barba starts wondering whether or not they can provide alternative facts, so to speak. It’s all about truth-telling and their version of the truth and why they tell it; what justice are you serving by inventing something even though you might be omitting something or lying a little bit but the end result is going to be the best for everybody,” says Esparaza.
