Jessica “Jess Hilarious” Moore went from social media personality to leading actress. Jess landed the leading female role opposite Lil Rel Howrey in the Fox pilot ‘Rel’.
The comedy is inspired by Howery’s real life. The show is written and produced by Josh Rabinowitz & Kevin Barnett and Howery.
On the show, Rel is a prideful, self-made success who lives by the code to “always believe in yourself and great things will come.” He then finds that perspective put to the test when he learns his wife is having an affair with his own barber. He tries to rebuild his life post-divorce as a long-distance single father on the West Side of Chicago who’s on a quest for love, respect and a new barber.
Jess Hilarious will play his best friend Tiffany, who helps him cope and find love again…..maybe.
The legendary actor/comedian Sinbad will also star as Rel’s father.
The concept seems like it would be a pretty good show. We know the curse of pilots, and nothing is ever guaranteed with television so I hope it makes the cut to air this fall. I’m looking forward to seeing how Jess does.
