Doesn’t James Bond seem to be a role made for Idris Elba? Unfortunately it isn’t happening.
Social media went crazy over the weekend with reports that the next James Bond character would be a Black man, and that British actor Idris Elba would be filling the role.
The rumor got started by a fake report saying that movie director Antoine Fuqa spoke with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli. It said that it was Fuqa that suggested that “it’s time for a Black James Bond”. Fuqa disputed these allegations and his rep issued a statement.
“He never had a conversation with Barbara about the franchise or about any casting. It’s all made up stuff. Not sure how it got started,”
Idris also seemingly replied to the rumors with a simple Flavor Flav & Public Enemy quote.
