We have entered the new wave of reboots. From television shows to films, Hollywood keeps trying to find ways to appeal to today’s world of entertainment. Insecure creator and star Issa Rae has allegedly jumped on board with wanting to remake the 90’s classic cult film ‘Set It Off’.
For those of you that are too young to know what the movie is about, let me break it down for you. Four women from LA living in the hood decide they cannot keep living barely check to check. They decide to rob one bank, got greedy and robbed more, but paid the costs that came along with it. The original film starred Jada Pinkett-Smith, Queen Latifah, Kimberly Elise and Vivica A. Fox.
Issa Rae and Montrel McKay of Issa Rae Productions, are teaming up with writers Syreeta Singleton (Black Monday) and Nina Gloster (Star) to bring this remake to life. They want Issa to star in the film, but no clue yet who else might be tapped in to co-star.
Are you here for it or should we leave it alone? Who do you think would be good for the roles of Frankie, Cleo, TiTi and Stoney?
