The title of the documentary says it all. “Bitchin’: The Sounds and Fury of Rick James” sums up the life the legendary musician/entertainer.
He was born James Ambrose Johnson Jr, but world loved and knew him as ‘Rick James’. That name would ring bells around the world many decades after 1978 when he released Come Get It! which produced the hits “You & I” and “Mary Jane” (one of my favorites!). The documentary covers his life within and outside of the music. The Showtime produced film will cover the highs and lows of his life including abusive relationships, his time in jail, substance abuse and more.

This is going to be a good one. The doc airs September 3rd, almost 1 month shy of the 17th anniversary of James’ death. It was a loss for the world, but his legacy never dies.
