Reboot season is in full affect, and seems to be on every production teams mind. Up next on the reboot list is VH1’s “Surreal Life”. If you don’t remember this show, you are too young.
The original version was a famed competition show that aired from 2003 to 2006. The show was one of VH1’s successors when it comes to reality tv shows. Each season followed a different group of celebrities as they spent 14 days together at actor-musician Glen Campbell’s former Hollywood Hills mansion. Each celeb participated in the assigned challenges and their ability to coexist and survive under one roof. Previous stars include Flavor Flav, Pepa from Salt-N-Pepa, Da Brat, Ron Jeremy, Janice Dickinson, Sherman Hemsley, Vanilla Ice, MC Hammer and many more.
The reboot will star singer/reality tv star Tamar Braxton, former NBA player Dennis Rodman, r&b singer August Alsina, comedienne/actress Kim Coles (Living SIngle) , porn star Stormy Daniels, actor Frankie Muniz (Malcom In The Middle) and YouTube star Manny MUA.
After a 15 year hiatus of the show, it will be interesting to see what new challenges the celebs will face. Tamar Braxton being a strong personality, I feel she is going to ask August Alsina about the whole “entanglement” with Jada Pinkett Smith.
The show will premiere this fall, but a date has not been given. Will you tune in?
