Keanu Reeves reprises his role as Neo in the upcoming 4th installment of The Matrix. The plot right now is unclear, but it definitely takes Neo back in time it seems. Morpheus originally portrayed by the legendary Laurence Fishburne was replaced by “Candyman” star Yahya Abdul-Mateen. In the trailer, it appears the new Morpheus may not be the “same” character Fishburne was portraying, as he does not recognize Neo in one of the clips. Is it some kind of alternate universe?
Laurence Fishburne was asked why he was not included in the film, and he replied simply “I have not been invited. Maybe that will make me write another play. I wish them well. I hope it’s great,”.
It seems like it will be a good movie though. Jada Pinkett Smith also reprises her role. I am interested in how it all plays out, and if Fishburne will write his own film.
