San Francisco and New York City mandated vaccines for athletes that play home games, however the NBA makes it clear they will not pay players that are not allowed to play due to not taking the vaccine. Which means players like Kyrie Irving and Andrew Wiggins will lose out on millions of dollars if they continue to opt out.
NBA teams play half of their games at home, so this would keep the 2 stars from playing in at least 41 games this season. Andrew Wiggins will forfeit $15.8 million, while Kyrie will miss $17.5 million.
Le’Bron James spoke recently saying while he is vaccinated, he will not use his platform to urge others to do so. Kyrie says this is a personal choice he stands by.
