Concerned father Donald Dillingham says he has not seen his son in 21 days, after being recruited by Kanye West to play basketball at Donda Academy.
Robert Dillingham is a 16 year old high school basketball player from North Carolina. He is the No. 2 most sought after player for college recruits in his home state. According to his father, his son was contacted by Kanye West to play basketball in California at the Donda Academy. He says Robert told his coach Jeff McInnis, that he would be leaving the school and completing his junior year at DA. Now according to his father, Donald says that Robert is still enrolled at Combine Academy in North Carolina and has missed classes.
Donald says he found out his son was playing for Kanye West’s school while watching television. He later learned a trainer named Rico Grier that befriended the family sometime ago, took Robert on the plane to Cali without Donald’s consent. Donald says that he shares custody with Robert’s mother, and he did not give permission to allow him to move to California or join Kanye’s school. Especially since he was the more active parent when it came to his son playing basketball.
Now allegedly, Kanye West contacted the teen and pressured him to play for his school. According to Hollywood Unlocked, Ye facetimed Robert saying “are you coming here or are you going to let it go?”, obviously referring to the opportunity.
Things get more sketchy when Donald contacted Grier about taking his son to California, but he says he has nothing to do with it. However, Grier has recently moved his entire family to California.
Robert and Donald Dillingham
Donald filed a report with the police in his home state about his song being missing. He says he cannot get any response from Robert’s mother, and when he called and spoke with an admin of Donda Academy, he was told an unnamed person authorized her not to speak with him.
Donald believes Kanye West illegally paid Robert’s mother to allow him to go to California, and Grier is serving as some kind of guardian while he is there.
We are not sure if Donald attempted to reach his son via social media, however Robert has been actively posting.

We hope everything works out for both Donald and Robert. As a parent, I can only imagine what he is dealing with not truly knowing where his son is.
