Suspects In Young Dolph Murder Captured!

23-year-old Justin Johnson was captured in Indiana  about 4 pm EST on January 11th. He is suspected of being one of the two people that killed Memphis rapper Young Dolph.

A first-degree murder warrant was issued last week for Johnson, who is accused of shooting and killing Young Dolph, real name Adolph Robert Thornton, Jr. U.S. Marshals said Johnson also had an outstanding warrant for violation of federal supervised release on a weapon offense.

32-year-old Cornelius Smith, is said to have been the other shooter, according to police. He was arrested in Southaven, MS on December 9th on an auto-theft warrant involving the white Mercedes Benz vehicle, that was used in the killing of Young Dolph, the U.S. Marshals Service said. The vehicle was taken in a carjacking on Nov. 10 at a gas station and was found on Nov. 20 — three days after the murder — behind a home in Orange Mound, where a tipster said it was abandoned.

Johnson is a local Memphis rapper that goes by the name Straight Drop. He was seen in many photos with Dolph, and even wearing a P.R.E. (Paper Route Empire) belt chain. P.RE. is the label owned by Young Dolph. The motive at this time is unknown, but Johnson claims he was innocent and was going to turn himself in, but he instead fled to the Midwest.
