Just a few days shy of his highly anticipated Super Bowl LVI half time performance, Snoop Dogg has been named in a sexual assault case.
According to reports, a woman filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the Long Beach rapper, along with his close friend Bishop Don Juan, real name Donald Campbell. The woman, only identified as Jane Doe, says that the incident happened after she attended a Snoop Dogg concert in May of 2013. After the concert, the woman and her friend agreed to go back to Snoop Dogg’s studio with him and Campbell. She says while at the studio, Campbell offered her a ride but instead of taking her home he drove to his home.
Jane Doe says she fell asleep in the car, and when she woke up she did go inside Campbell’s home but fell asleep again. This time when she woke up about 4:00 am, she says she was being forced to perform oral sex on him. After, the woman alleges that he told her to get dress and go with him to a taping of “Snoop Dogg’s Double G News Network,”. She says he called it a “career move”.
The report goes on to say that, Snoop Dogg allegedly followed her to the bathroom where he also forced her to perform oral sex on him, and masturbated in front of her, ejaculating on her chest. The lawsuit says she complied with the sexual acts “due to his dominance, and his position of power over her, including his ability to hire and fire her and ensure that she would never be hired in his industry again,”.
The woman says she tried to handle the situation privately, but that the mediation held on Tuesday, was “unsuccessful”. She also feels that Snoop was taunting her after he made a post on his Instagram about it being “gold digger season”.
Snoop Dogg and Campbell are accused of violating laws on sexual battery, sexual assault and sex trafficking. Jane Doe is demanding a jury trial, where she is seeking punitive damages and costs of her lawsuit. It is not clear if she has filed criminal charges.
