Atlanta rapper Young Thug was arrested Monday in Buckhead and was among 28 people listed in an 88-page indictment for participation in street gang activity and conspiracy to violate the RICO Act as part of a 56-count indictment.
It’s reported that Thug’s record label YSL (AKA Young Stoner Life/Young Slime Life/Young Slatt Life), has been accused of partaking in criminal gang activity. The indictment charges includes, “Maintaining armed individuals ready and willing to preserve, protect and enhance the reputation, power and territory of the enterprise through the use of violence; Obtaining money, weapons and other property through acts of racketeering activity, including robbery, theft and the unlawful sale and distribution of drugs; and Obstructing law enforcement investigations and court proceedings through witness intimidation and attacks upon law enforcement officers.”
Young Thug, real name Jeffrey Williams, is said to have also rented a car from Hertz in 2015, that was linked to the murder of rival gang member Donovan Thomas Jr. The indictment says there was a video posted to social media 16 days after the shooting, and Williams said others who “tell the God’s honest truth” in the courtroom “need to get (expletive) killed bro, from me and YSL,” .
Also included in the indictment is the 2015 incident where shots were fired at New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne’s tour bus, by an YSL member.
Young Thug alone is accused of occupying a leadership position in YSL and overseeing a long list of alleged crimes, including murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, carjacking, drug possession and more.
Fellow rapper Gunna has also been named in the indictment on RICO charges but he has not been arrested. They plan to use his music and social media against him to correlate the gang affiliation.
Young Thug has also been named as being the person to get permission from to kill rapper YFN Lucci, who has been serving time in jail since 2020. Their beef goes back to 2017 after words were exchanged about Young Thug comparing himself to slain rapper Tupac Shakur, who many consider the greatest of all time. Lucci called Thug out saying, Pac would never wear a dress.”
What’s crazier is that Young Thug is now inside the same jail that houses YFN Lucci.

Young Thug’s lawyer Brian Steel denies all allegations against his client. He told local media that, “Mr. Williams committed no crime whatsoever” and that he would “fight till his last drop of blood to clear him.”
