Megan Thee Stallion is still in a heated legal battle with her current label, 1501 Certified Entertainment. Megan’s team accused the label of leaking “Traumazine”, which is said to be her last album on the label…at least Meg is hoping a judge will determine it to be.
In a new request to the Harris County judge, Megan’s team is requesting that “Traumazine” and “Something for Thee Hotties” “both constitute an ‘album’ as defined in the parties’ recording agreement.’” If a judge agrees, that means the contract between 1501 and Megan will be completed.
Now according to Rolling Stones, the Houston rapper is also seeking 1 million in damages because the label refuses to give up her share of the royalties to her music.
The 1501 label and Megan will also be heading back to court in May 2023. Megan hired a forensic investigator to prove the label leaked her “Traumazine” project, 8 days before the official release date. 1501 CEO, and former baseball player Carl Crawford, and his attorney Steven Zager, deny any wrong doing.
“There’s not a shred of evidence that we leaked Traumazine. I don’t even think my guys would know how to leak it. Nor can I think of a motive. We participate with Megan in the profits. Why would we want to do that? It’s coming completely out of left field,”
