R apper Mystikal has been officially indicted on first-degree rape and drug charges. The sexual assault is said to have taken place in July at his home in Prairieville, Louisiana. Mystikal, whose real name is Michael Lawrence Tyler, is being charged with criminal damage to property, false imprisonment, domestic abuse battery by strangulation, simple robbery and drug possession for heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to The Huffington Post, Sheriff’s Det. Garrett Keith testified on August 2nd, that the victim told him she arrived to Tyler’s home at 8pm on July 30th. She had a discussion with him regarding finances. but they could not come to an agreement. Things went left, and she says he took her keys, choked her, then apologized and “cleaned her from bad spirits” with rubbing alcohol before raping her.
The woman went to a local hospital shortly after, where it was determined that her injuries matched her story. Mystikal is facing life in prison if he is convicted of the charges.
“It’s an indictment,” his attorney Joel Pearce said Wednesday. “It means nothing. We look forward to our day in court.” “This isn’t the first time a grand jury has gotten it wrong about Michael Tyler,”
