Universal decided to green light the sequel for the 90’s film Half Baked, but without the original main characters played by Dave Chappelle and Jim Breuer.
The original person set to return to the cast is Rachel True, who played Mary Jane Pottman. The movie will follow her son JR, whose father is Chappelle’s character. JR and his friends explore using marijuana, while trying to come up with money for a friend’s funeral, that died from smoking “the most powerful joint in the world”.
To critics, its not a surprise that Chappelle is not involved, because he stated he was not happy with how the original Half Baked turned out. New actors added to the sequel are Dexter Darden (from The Maze Runner), Moses Storm, Jeff Ross, David Koechner and Frankie Muniz.
The film is expected to go straight to tv or for streaming. Will you check it out?
