You may remember Dr. Michael K. Obeng who went viral after helping Tessica Brown, aka “Gorilla Glue Girl”, get what seemed to be a permanent chemical out of her hair.
Dr. Obeng was praised for his good deed for not charging Tessica to remove the Gorilla Glue. He also runs an international charity that provides free surgery to children in Africa. While it seems Dr. Obeng is a helpful and giving man, according his ex wife Veronica Clayborne, things are not what they appear to be.
WebCelebDaily spoke exclusively to the Dr.’s ex wife, and she says that the doc refuses to help take care of their children. He currently owes 1.1 million dollars in child support. In July of 2020, a judge ordered that Dr. Obeng pay his ex wife for the support of their children. She says she proved to a judge via bank records that he refused to help their children once she filed for divorce. “He won’t even feed our children, but gets a humanitarian awards. He’s a fraud and his whole persona is fake”, she told WCD.
Veronica wants to bring light on how people with money can avoid their responsibilities. “It’s sad that any person would have to endure years of post separation abuse and the children go without because if you have money the legal system let’s you slide.” Veronica provided receipts of court documents proving he owes child support.
According to the documents, Dr. Obeng owes much more in both child and spousal support. The court wants him to sell his home, but according to Veronica he refuses. “His Bel Air home is being ordered to be sold to support his children. He swears he will never pay or leave the home”
Now the courts have suspended Dr. Obeng’s license multiple times due to child support, but Veronica says he sues to get the license back every time, as the court says it is in the best interest of the children, despite history of non payment. “He considered himself the victim”, she says.
Veronica says the doc is living alone and living the good life, driving a Rolls Royce, but goes to court and “claims he is penniless”. “He’s a deadbeat dad to all his own kids and if ever rarely see’s them and he doesn’t support any of them. But you can catch him partying every night in Beverly Hills or in Africa taking photo ops.”
Dr. Obeng was also seen on TLC’s hit show 90 Day Fiancé.
Both Obeng and Clayborne appeared on a reality show called Second Wives Club on E! Once the show discussed Obeng’s infidelity, he sued the network and did not video or pictures of himself or his children seen on the show. Here is a clip.
