It’s now being said that the “friends” of Shanquella did not allow the doctor to take her to the hospital. The Charlotte Observer reports that around an hour after a request call was made for medical attention, Dr. Karolina Beatriz Ornelas Gutiérrez, of the American Medical Center, arrived to treat her. House calls to vacation rentals for routine non-emergency medical services are normal in tourist parts of Mexico.

On October 29th, Dr. Gutiérrez says she was told that Robinson “drunk a lot of alcohol” and that the medical call was for her to “be given an IV.” The doctor went on to say that Shanquella was stable, but showed signs of dehydration and was too inebriated to verbally communicate. The doctor says she kept trying to get Shanquella to a hospital, and that she could not insert the IV, but the friends insisted the doctor help her inside the villa.

At some point Shanquella had a seizure and could barely breathe. Once a pulse was no longer detected, that’s when Wenter Donovan, called 911 to request an ambulance. The report says both the doctor and Donovan performed chest compressions. The report says when medics arrived they “administered a total of 14 rounds of CPR, five doses of adrenaline and six discharges (AED shocks) without success.” Gutierrez “declared her dead at 5:57 p.m.

Robinson’s family members are fighting hard to find out what really happened. It’s one thing for the stories not to add up from the people she traveled with, but medical reports are conflicted too? We need the FBI to fully investigate, as her family deserves justice.

Mexican authorities believe her death was “gender based” and are calling it a “femicide”. With a viral video of Shanquella being beat up by another woman there in the villa, friends turning on friends…will we ever know what truly happened?
