Comedian Earthquake Talks Netflix Special Being Named Funniest Of 2022 By New York Times

WebCelebDaily recently caught up with the very hilarious and talented comedian/actor Earthquake. He spoke about his Netflix special ‘Legendary’ being named the funniest comedy special of 2022 by The New York Times.

The Washington D.C. native spoke candidly with WCD‘s Dani La’ Shay about it taking 30 years to make it to a global platform like Netflix.

“I’m honored, humbled. I’m glad the “others” get to see what I’ve been doing for 30 years.” “I’m starting to make headway through the mainstream media. Cause my particular constituents look like you and though they have  supported me for 30 years. Very few other than you, have platforms to spread the news, the gospel. It takes a little while from that to come over to mainstream and I’m just appreciative of that.”

Legendary was produced by Dave Chappelle, whom Earthquake calls his brother and friend. It’s the first comedy special that Chappelle produced but did not perform in, so that says a lot right there of what his dear friend thinks of his work. Now I’ve been a fan of Quake’s work since the 90’s but check out this clip from the special.

Earthquake went on to speak about cancel culture, his take on Will Smith’s Oscar’s slap, his thoughts on comedians today and more. Check out the full interview below.
