The life of rock star Little Richard was just as interesting as he was as a person. The new documentary Little Richard: I Am Everything tells the captivating story of Richard Penniman going through life trying to make music but also dealing with drugs, battling who he truly was.
Directed by Lisa Cortes, the documentary gives Little Richard his flowers for inspiring bands such as the Beatles, and being a founding father of Rock ‘n’ Roll. The story also goes deeper into the true meaning of the song “Tutti Frutti” which was really about anal sex. I remember singing the song as a kid and never having a clue. We were given the pleasure of seeing the film before its release and we think you’ll be left with a greater understanding of just who Richard was outside of an amazing performer.
