George Floyd’s 4 Year Old Niece Shot In Houston.

George Floyd’s four year old niece, Arianna Delane, was shot inside her home Saturday, January 1st, at 2:55 a.m. She was asleep in bed.

The young girl was inside of the apartment on the 3300 block of Yellowstone Boulevard. She was home along with one other child, and four adults when bullets shot through their home. Arianna was shot in the torso, and her dad says she suffered from a punctured liver, lung, and had several broken ribs.

“My daughter jumped up and said, ‘Daddy, I’ve been hit’ and I was shocked until I seen the blood and I realized my 4-year-old daughter was really hit,” Delane recalled. “She didn’t know what was going on. She was asleep.” Derrick Delane said to news outlet ABC13. “I [saw] the blood, the bleeding, and I grabbed her.”

Arianna’s father says she survived surgery and is healing well. He also said it took police to more than 4 hours to arrive to the scene. Houston PD has launched an investigation in the delay of their response to the shooting. Houston PD chief Troy Finner released a statement.

“The investigation into the senseless shooting of the 4-year-old female at 3322 Yellowstone Boulevard on Saturday morning (January 1) continues to move forward. I am aware and have concerns regarding the delayed response time in this incident and have initiated an Internal Affairs Investigation. I ask the city to continue to pray for the child’s full recovery and assist in providing information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect or suspects responsible.”

Now according to TMZ, the family knows who the shooter is, but says they don’t think their family was targeted, saying it was “just a coincidence.”

“Why would my house get shot up?” the father said. “My daughter don’t know. I can’t explain that to her. As the father, you’re supposed to protect the kids.”
