Baltimore Mayor Declared A State Of Emergency After Riots Break Out

Now since I am considered the media, I will try my best to give you all views of the outbreak of the horrifying riots going on in Baltimore. I find it disgusting that television networks are only talking about the riots and fighting going on, but nothing about the brothers and sisters coming together as one for the justice of Freddie Gray, and all other victims that have died due to police brutality.

Now , for those who don’t know the story of Freddie Gray, click here to read the back story. Freddie Gray Story.

Freddie was laid to rest yesterday in Baltimore, MD, and that sparked a lot of peaceful protests in the city. Members affiliated with some of the gangs including Gangsta Disciples, Bloods and Crips all came together to show unity and support of the injustice that Freddie Gray suffered.

Then we started to see reports of violence and riots occurring around the city, mostly around where Freddie was arrested. There are conflicting stories about who started the riots, some reports say the protesters got violent, some say police officers started to taunt the protesters, which led to the riots. I cannot validate which is actually true. The only thing I saw was the aftermath of a building burning in the city, and people crying and yelling. It was heartbreaking.

The mayor, Stephanie Rawlings Blake, has issued a state of emergency, and set a curfew from 10 pm-5 am for the next week.

Celebrities spoke out about the situation, but none caught my attention more than Mississippi rapper David Banner. If you didn’t know, DB has been on his conscious steez for a while now.

Hilary actually responded.

Tonight I am praying for peace & safety for all in Baltimore, & for Freddie Gray’s family – his death is a tragedy that demands answers. -H

Tamar Braxton shared a video of protesters dancing peacefully before the violence occurred, to Michael Jackson’s ‘They Don’t Care About Us’.

Baltimore native Carmelo Anthony had a few words.

At the end of the day, I don’t feel we should tear up our community because when the smoke clears, where will people live? How will that small black owned business be able to afford another building due to the fires? We have to think smart! I also feel the pain and hear the cries of our people. I’m raising a black man, and this is what we have to look forward to? How long do these officials think our people would be quiet and not fight back?

It is history repeating itself. Nothing has changed, not even with a black President. Open your eyes, and educate yourselves……this is just a glimpse of what is to come. If this government doesn’t re-evaluate this “justice system”, it will only get worse.
