According to the press release from Las Vegas PD, Chris Brown was playing basketball about 3 am at the Palms Casino Resort when he got into an altercation with another player. It is said that it started out verbal but then led to a physical altercation. The result of that fight was Chris punching the other man. Before the guy could try to land a punch on Brown, they say one of Chris’ friends punched the guy.
The guy took himself to the hospital, but was checked out with no threatening injuries.
Police showed up at Chris’ room, where they were told he was unavailable to speak.
Here is a portion of the press release giving Brown his options.
“Mr. Brown has been given the option of signing a citation for misdemeanor battery, or having the case submitted to the Clark CountyDistrict Attorney’s Office for prosecution,” the press release reads. “As of this release, the LVMPD has not heard from Mr. Brown or his attorney indicating whether or not he would sign the citation.”
Chris Brown’s rep is saying however that Chris was not involved in any fight. His rep, Nicole Perna, says “Chris is currently in Las Vegas as he is performing at Drai’s on 5 May and receiving a Key to the Strip that day as well,” said Perna in a statement. “He has a suite at the hotel that has a basketball court and invited friends to come play. An unruly individual showed up uninvited and was removed from the premises. Chris was not in an altercation with this person.”
Hopefully Chris can work this out, he did just get off of probation for the Rihanna incident. Today he turns 26…what a way to start off your bday.
